Clifton Multisensory Art Installation |
Unveiling Reception: October 10, 2025 @ 10am |
Please join us for the unveiling of the unveiling of this monumental piece of public, tactile art in the Clifton neighborhood. Unveiling Reception: October 10, 2025 @ 10am All are welcome, we only request that you RSVP so we know how many attendees there will be. About the Artwork Designed to be tactile and inclusive with hand-carved tiles of animals, flowers, and landmarks springing up like wildflowers to symbolize the neighborhood’s growth and creativity. This multi-sensory mural is meant to be accessible and experienced by all.
Created by lead artist Liz Richter and with the help of ceramicist Kristen Falkirk, and disability inclusion specialist, Darren Harbour, this tactile mural tells the neighborhood’s story along a winding road that symbolizes the passage of time. Landmark buildings rise like wildflowers, surrounded by botanicals chosen to reflect Clifton’s organic growth and creative spirit.
This monumental multi-sensory mural, the first of its kind in Kentucky, tells the timeline of Frankfort Avenue and its pedestrians. Located at Clifton Court, it celebrates the diversity and creativity of the surrounding community, bringing history and art vividly to life. |
The second annual Artists & Afros returns with an even more vibrant celebration of art, culture, and community. Presented in partnership with Louisville Visual Art (LVA), this year’s event will feature a Local Muse Booth showcasing artists Robyn Gibson, Jabani Bennett, Tomisha Lovely-Allen, Chip Calloway, and Sandra Charles. In addition to these featured creators, many other artists will participate in the dynamic weekend. Guests will also enjoy soulful live jazz by The Erica Denise, stunning visual art, and meaningful opportunities for connection. A champagne toast will round out the festivities as the community comes together to honor the creativity that enriches our world. Whether a collector, enthusiast, or curious newcomer, all are invited to be part of this celebration.

Louisville Visual Art (LVA) is partnering with Humana to bring a new public mural to the Waterfront at the intersection of N. Brook Street and Witherspoon. Commissioned through Monet’ Murals, the project will be led by Louisville-born, nationally acclaimed artist Jaylin Monet’ Stewart, whose work blends bold visual language with community-centered storytelling. Public art is a core part of LVA’s mission to connect art, artists, and community—making creativity accessible, inclusive, and reflective of the people and places it represents. This collaboration continues LVA’s commitment to producing site-responsive works that honor local stories while elevating diverse voices and fostering connection across the city.
